Part 1
Alexa: Hey everybody, Alexa here. Um, so I posted a blog out and then there were also some questions on Forever Alexa that you guys wrote in. I kind of just have a like whole list with me, so I'm just going to go through them, and Adam is going to be here in case I miss any, and we're just gonna make sure we get them all in, and we'll probably do this again. We'll probably run another blog in case there were questions that weren't asked yet that you guys wanna know. So, I'll try to get through them as quickly as possible so I don't take up too much time, so I guess, let's go.
The first question was, "Does Krizia have a boyfriend?" Um, yeah, I'm sorry guys, she's taken by a very cute guy in Georgia. He's like a part of our family now. So, um, and then somebody else asked, "If Krizia has a boyfriend, how come you weren't allowed to date but Krizia is, and she's 16?" I don't really think that I really found anybody that was right for me at 16, so I didn't really care to date, but she found a good guy, so that should answer your question.
"What's my favorite video game?" I am good at Halo. I just gotta tell you guys, Halo is a fun and addicting game. Oh, it's horrible 'cause it's all I wanna do when I play it, so I feel like stay away from video games. But I just got the new Wii and I'm addicted to Zelda on that and I've never played Zelda before but I watched my sisters and I tried it one time and I'm hooked.
"Do I keep a diary?" I used to keep a diary, not anymore, just 'cause I don't really have time. And then you start it for a month and then after that you kind of forget about it, and then you just end up with all these diaries that have been started like for 30 days and that's it, so I just kind of gave up on it--I wasn't very consistent with it.
"How do I spend a normal day?" Well, I guess today wasn't normal 'cause I have interviews today. But on a day where I don't have any work at all, I play soccer with my sisters, um, or we just finished construction on our house so we're doing a lot of like remodeling as far as like furniture, bringing in new furniture and stuff like that, so I have to work. My mom makes me do dishes and laundry and sweep and all that kind of stuff, so, um...
"Do I have any new projects coming up?" Um, actually I'm about to go to New York to be doing a play on Broadway, which is gonna be fun. I've never done theater before, so it should be very entertaining and scary and just a completely new experience. But, it'll be my first time living on my own, for about 5 months, so that's definitely gonna be the scariest part 'cause I'm used to like sisters running all over the house and like little babies and just having my family with me. So, it's gonna feel kind of lonely, but at the same time that's more rewarding the first time I'm really doing it on my own. And it's a play called Hairspray. I play Penny Pingleton, so it's gonna be a lot of fun. As far as movies I'm producing a movie called Breakwater. The name has changed like 30 times but right now, this week that's the name of the film, and then I'm also gonna be doing a movie called Honor Bound and there are a couple more still in the works, but we'll see what happens.
"Do I cook?" Yes, I love cooking. You name it, whatever it is. I love making soup from scratch, chicken soup. I love making arepas(?), Arroz con Pollo. Like, basically, like all the very kind of Spanish food. I learned that from my grandma. (?)
"Do I have a bodyguard?" Mr. Ripgard(?) has to be the coolest guy in the world. I love him, he's great! I don't necessarily need him all the time. That was definitely when we were doing like press tours and people know that you're coming. But for the most part, like if I'm walking down the street, I'm fine. People are like, "who, who's Alexa?" So I don't have too much of a problem, especially cause my hair's not dark, so that kind of helps a little.
"Where do I shop?" Everywhere! Everywhere, if they have clothes, jewelry, shoes, I'm there! Believe me. We love making-- Like, even the old lady stores, you could always dress up and do something funky with, so that's always fun.
"Do I have a boyfriend?" Um, there are a couple of really cute guys right now. I guess you could say yes, but I don't know. Like, we don't call each other boyfriend and girlfriend, so I don't know. It's kind of weird. Um, but, no I have a very good friend. How does that sound?
"And Am I still 5' 1?" Yes, I'm still 5' 1", I am very, very short. I'm not gonna grow anymore. So, I'm sorry. (laughs)
Oh, somebody wants to know if I'm dating Efren Ramirez. No. Efren is a good friend of mine but we are not dating--we are not anything more than just friends.
Adam: Yeah, that question's been asked quite a few times.
Alexa: I know! Everybody's asking! They're like, "are you and Efren...?" No, we just hang out. It's so funny, they see me with a boy all of a sudden it's like, "oh, she's dating him" or "oh she's dating him." No, I guess this guy that is my friend is the first official kind of guy that I'm dating, that's all that I can say.
Adam: Cool.
Alexa: And I'm 18 so it's okay now. Kind of--I still don't really know the force(?) but that's okay (Adam laughs). Um, my favorite food--Japanese food, like, I love Japanese food, I love raw fish, as disgusting as it sounds. And especially Miso Soup on a cold day. It's been very cold in California lately, which is surprising, especially for L.A. but...
"Do I have a facebook?" No I don't have a facebook. I barely have time for a MySpace! But Diana has made that very possible for me, so she's a great girl.
"Have I ever been to the pink hot dog stand on La Brea?" Yes! And that was with my mom after a very long day of preps, shoots, and premieres and stuff. And it was like at 3 in the morning; that place never closes. It's unbelievable. It's great!
"Why do I have a MySpace?" I thought that it'd be good to get one, that way I can talk to the fans. I know we have Forever Alexa [Alexa Forever], which if you guys don't know about is basically the #1 place to go to if you want to know any info about me, get any pictures and all that good stuff, go there. And there's actually a couple of contests running to where you can win like prizes and stuff, which I still have to send out, by the way. Let's see.. (I think my phone's ringing. Sorry.)
Let's see, the three most important things to me. That would be #1 God. Two: family. And three, I know you're supposed to choose friends, but I'm gonna include friends with my family because if you're my close friend then you're just like family to me, so I'm gonna say God, family and my job. I LOVE my job. Like, I wouldn't trade it in for anything.
"Growing up in front of the camera." You know, it doesn't feel weird to me, just because it's always been that way. It's never been something like, "oh my gosh, you know, you're growing up on screen or in front of, you know, the Hollywood scene. Is that weird?" No! It's so normal just because I've never had it any other way. It would be weird if it wasn't like that just because I didn't grow up that way. So, I don't know, I guess for people who've never been in this business it would be weird. But because I grew up in it, it's not weird to me. I don't know if that makes sense, but I'm trying to make sense of it.
"Being compared to other teen stars." Well, I don't really feel like I'm in that category. I don't think I'm in that kind of like loop of, ooh Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Bynes. I kind of felt like for a while I was almost in that, but I'm not. Which, I'm like totally okay with, because I don't really like being grouped into things. But that's not necessarily a bad thing because they're very good girls too, you know, they're good actresses. So not, not saying nobody's... making sure of that.
"Who has been the most difficult, most rewarding and most intimidating to work with?" Um, the most intimidating to work with would probably have been walking on set and having Ricardo Montalban on set because he's such a legend. He definitely wasn't difficult to work with or hard in any way. He was just kind of intimidating because of who he is. But he is such a sweet and gentle man that he made everything okay. Definitely the most fun and crazy person to work with as far as acting goes is Sean Patrick Flanery. He is the coolest man in the world. "Who has been the most rewarding to work with?" I'm not quite sure, I'm kind of blanking right now. I'd probably still say Sean because I took a lot from him after doing Run the Wild Fields. He had, definitely a big influence on me. So, oh Sean, we love Sean!
"Why am I skipping the party scene?" Why am I skipping the party scene? Okay, I'm skipping the party scene because it's never really--even going to a regular high school with all the parties there, like normal kids and stuff--it's just never really appealed to me. I don't care for drinking or any of that. It's not really fun. I'd rather be at home playing board games with my sisters or close friends. I don't have that many friends, either. I felt like there were a lot of people who weren't necessarily the best to have in my life. And when you really narrow it down to a few close people, I realize that you're a better person for it. It works for some people; it doesn't work for others. But for me, I just like a smaller group. I don't know, I don't know, I just feel better about that. So, when I do things in smaller groups, that's good fun, but I'm not really a big party girl. Although I went to the Wii party the other night so I could get a free Wii, so if I'm getting free stuff I'll go there for sure.
Adam: Nice.
Alexa: Let's see. "Will I ever do nudity in a film?" Oh wait, what were you saying Adam? I'm sorry.
Adam: I just said nice to your Wii comment.
Alexa: Oh yeah, Wii is great. Wii is very good. So, back to like the weird question, nudity in a film. You know, it really depends on how it's done. I'm pretty--I don't know, like, I'm a pretty strong Christian girl and it'd be kind of weird if I was just on screen naked. But, then again, it's also the kind of role it is, and the type of film it is, and the director. You have to be really comfortable, it's more than just "will I do nudity in a film?" It's everything in one. If it's absolutely necessary for the type of role and character that it is and I'm comfortable with all the people that I'm working with, then I don't really see it being a big problem because I think the human body is absolutely beautiful, so that could work. But would I just do it to do it? No, probably not.
"My favorite kind of pie?" That's really funny right after that question. Um, apple pie, probably, but I'd take all the apples out and just really eat the crust with like the cinnamon, kind of like, creamy kind of stuff--I don't really like the actual apples.
"What do I enjoy most about acting?" It's so much fun to dress up and become somebody else for a couple minutes. Um, I don't know if you've ever tried it but it's definitely entertaining, and I think you kind of feel crazy when you do it too, so that's always fun that you have an excuse to be crazy for a little bit, so that's--that's definitely fun.
"What kind of challenges do I hope to face with work?" It's not necessarily something that you can just say "I hope to face this challenge." "I hope to face that challenge." It's really just what roles come to you. I mean, each role is challenging in its own way because you're becoming somebody else. But there are some that are definitely harder than others but, harder than other roles. But, like for me, something that would be difficult for me could be very easy for somebody else, so I don't really want to like start naming things exactly. But I just like taking one role at a time, and if it's challenging, I'll take the challenge. If it's not, then I'm fine.
"If I could work with any actor, who would it be?" Gary Oldman, hands down. Gary Oldman and Natalie Portman, those two have been so influential with the decisions I've made and how I wanna continue to take my career. So definitely both of those people are extraordinary and unbelievable actors that I would love to get the privilege to work with them, or at least kind of follow the path that they've taken, because it's been a very good path for those two.
"If I could work with any director, who would it be?" You know, I don't. There are so many incredible directors that- are you saying you Adam? Adam, of course, I'd love to work with Adam. (Adam laughs.) There's so many directors that it's so hard to choose from. I really, you know what? I don't know. I honestly don't have an answer for that, because there's so many people.
"Is there Spy Kids 4?" No, that that I know of.
"My favorite movie?" My favorite move of all time is Leon, The Professional with Natalie Portman, Gary Oldman, and Jean Reno. Oh, by the way, I just want to let everybody know, my husband is Daniel Craig from James Bond--he is absolutely gorgeous. And Charlie is the coolest person on the planet, so, um, yes, Daniel Craig. And I think I saw James Bond three times in the theater. It's kind of sad, but I love that film!
Adam: Nice.
Alexa: "What irritates me?" Moochers! I don't like people who mooch off you! I think it's the most annoying thing ever! People who use you, and all that kind of stuff, so moochers would definitely be the answer.
"What role has been most rewarding to me?" There are two: Pug the Bug in Run the Wild Fields and Paula Crisostomo in Walkout. Those two have definitely rewarding and the most meaningful.
"Have I even turned down a role?" Yes. And that was-- I mean you're gonna turn down scripts and stuff like that all the time, but have I ever really turned down a role for a certain movie? That was to play the little girl in Practical Magic, just because it didn't really necessarily go with what I believed in, and I didn't necessarily think the message was right. Things were kind of changing, the script and stuff like that, so it ended up working out for whoever did the role, but as far as I went, it didn't really work out for me and my morals.
"The most interesting person that I've met?" That would have to be the--I don't even know his name--it would be the guy who played the producer in Borat(?). I don't even know how to say the name. My sisters make fun of me because I would say bowrat but they're like, "it's not bowrat it's borot.., borat? I can't say it. (Adam: borat?) Bowrat? I can't say it! It's weird. But yeah, it was the producer guy and I had met him at the Wii party. He was definitely very interesting. And Tara Reid's sister, she's an interesting and cool girl. I played Apples to Apples with her. It was really funny. (laughs)
Adam: Nice.
Alexa: So, um, there we go. That's how we get through my questions, and that was a long time ago. I try to do it kind of speedy. Any questions from you, Adam?
Adam: We have um, just another face in the crowd three. Once...now what are your college plans?
Alexa: College plans. Um, college plans have changed literally like 50 times. Um, I was going to USC and then I stopped, and then I was gonna go to University of Texas, and then I didn't do that. So, like, there were a lot of different choices. And then I finally thought that, "okay I'm going to Retta(?) in London." And it's so hard because when you have certain roles, movie roles that come along, it's so hard to turn them down, because you don't get opportunities like that all the time. You see all these young kid actors who, you know, they're like, okay, you know, I'm gonna to take four years off and go to college. But they can never get back in the business again, and they always say the one mistake I made was leaving the job that I have to go to school. And I'm not saying that school is better, I'm not saying that work is better. I'm just--I have to kind of go on gut instinct, and right now school is something that I--I just have to put on hold because these opportunities are coming by. I don't want to miss, miss out on them, so (Adam: yeah.) I'm gonna wait on school and it's so painful because all my friends are in school and I feel like a dummy when I'm not, but I just know that (Adam: oh) I have to make the decision that's best for me and my life, so right now it's work.
Adam: Alright. Um, Ron Mandy [Rony Mady] wants to know approximately how many messages do you get every day at MySpace and how many PMs do you get at FA?
Alexa: Wow! Um, I think MySpace definitely overrules the Forever Alexa PMs, just because there are so many people on MySpace. Every day, Diana and I, and Krizia sometimes helps me out, and it's so hard because there are so many people. We probably get ten pages of messages a, like, not a day, probably, like a little bit more than half a day, ten pages will fill up, and then it'll start over. So, it's unbelievable, like, the questions that come in! That's why we decided to do a blog and do this for all of you; that way we wouldn't have a problem. So, that would definitely be a lot. But I really want to try and be loyal to everybody, that's why it's really hard. If you guys- try not to send in repeated things, or just know that I'll try to get to you 'cause it's not really fair to send in the same thing over and over again to all the people, 'cause you're kind of holding up the line. Or if you're like, "How was your day?" Just know that I'm probably doing pretty good, just because it's so hard. I feel bad for all the other people who really do have a question that I haven't gotten to them yet. I don't want to make them wait any longer, 'cause, sometimes, because it was backed up for, actually, like, a month at one point. There was, like, a month waiting time, so...
Adam: Maybe, maybe we'll try and, maybe we'll try and do like a--a frequently asked questions thing on FA sometime.
Alexa: Yeah exactly, we'll do that. We'll do a frequently asked questions.
Adam: Alright.
Alexa: Do you have more?
Adam: Um, Gustoman wants to know, "Do you paintball, and if so, what kind of gun do you use?"
Alexa: I paintball, I don't have a specific gun because we're always breaking them, so we just buy new cheap ones. But um, oh yeah, I love paintball.
Adam: Awesome. Yeah, um, I think we'll be done for now.
Alexa: Is that good for now? Yeah, 'cause that's a pretty long running time, so it's pretty good, 'cause that many questions, I think we did a pretty good job. Alrighty. Thank you guys for writing in your questions, and thank you, sir, Adam. Sorry. So I will just talk to you online Adam, and thank you everybody else. Bye guys!
Part 2
Hey everybody, it's Alexa. I guess I offended a couple people, I was informed earlier today, so I just wanted to personally apologize. I didn't mean to skip over any questions at all or make anybody feel bad, so if I did I'm very, very sorry for that. To answer the questions that I believed were skipped, and if I skip anymore, let me know and I will go back and clear them for you guys.
I guess one of the questions that was skipped is, "Do I still speak to Emily Osment, and I do know Haley or any of the Hannah Montana people?" Something like that. No, I haven't talked to Emily since the film. It's been a long, long time actually. Oh yeah, and I don't know the Hannah Montana girl [Miley Cyrus], I don't know her. And then another question was, "If I could play any role that's already been done, which one would it be?" It'd definitely be Natalie Portman, her role in Leon, The Professional. I thought that that was an excellent, awesome movie. It's my favorite film, so definitely Natalie Portman's role. She kicked butt in it, so that would be good.
Let me make sure that there are no other questions. That's all she sent me, so I think that covers it. If I missed any, I'm really, really sorry again. And I really didn't mean to offend anybody or leave anybody out, or you know, disclude a certain like, kind, like-- Does that make sense? Hold on, I'm making sense now. There I go rambling. Um, I'm not, like-- I don't answer only American questions. I don't only answer Spanish questions. I answer questions from everybody. So I'm very sorry if I excluded you. So, anyway, that's all. Thank you!
